About this boat
The boat
La Niña is our 5-metre Quicksilver 505 Commander with a Mercury 80 HP engine. Comfortable, stable and easy to handle — built for a full day at sea with family or friends along the Costa Daurada. Plenty of room for five.
Who it's for
She just spent the entire winter at the yard: engine serviced, leg checked, hulls painted and upholstery renewed. She comes out like new. No licence? We can also book her with a skipper on board — ask us about availability.
Why we have it
We bought her after years of borrowing boats from friends. We wanted an honest boat — one that starts every time and that the family actually enjoys, not a project. We named her "La Niña" because the first time we took her out, off Vilafortuny Castle, a pod of dolphins swam alongside us for a long stretch. The kids still ask for "the dolphins" every time we head to the harbour.
A typical day
Leave Cambrils mid-morning heading south to Cala Vidre or Cala Llenya — turquoise water, sandy bottom, pines down to the shore. Drop anchor fifty metres off the cove, swim, pull out lunch, and head back unhurried in the afternoon. If you've got it in you, chain Cala Forn and Cala Justell in l'Ametlla de Mar, two gems only reachable by boat. When the wind's from the south, head north and discover Cap Roig.
Handover & briefing
We hand her over to you in Cambrils, clean and with a full tank. Before casting off we go through the area, the coves, the anchorages and the day's forecast together — about twenty minutes of briefing — and you're sailing.
