Booking a boat for the first time raises fair questions: do you pay everything upfront? What if something comes up? What actually happens on the day? The good news is that the process is built so anyone can do it in five minutes, with no calls and no paperwork. Here it is, start to finish.
1. Choose the boat, date and time slot
First, decide which boat fits your plan. For an easy day close to the coast, with no licence needed, our pick is La Bond: 4 metres, up to 5 people and fuel included. You drive it yourself with just your ID.
If you want to go further — to the coves of l’Ametlla de Mar or beyond Cap de Salou — La Niña is an 80 HP Quicksilver 505. It needs a licence or a professional skipper on board, which you can add to the booking.
On the website you choose:
- The boat you prefer.
- The date available on the calendar.
- The time slot: half day (morning or afternoon) or full day.
If it’s your first time, a half day is usually more than enough to build confidence, cruise the coast, anchor and swim without rushing. A full day makes sense if you want to string several coves together and eat at anchor without watching the clock. The morning tends to offer the calmest sea; the afternoon, the option to stay for sunset. You’ll see the full price before moving on, with no hidden costs.
2. Secure payment by card
Payment is made online by card through Stripe, the same gateway used by thousands of businesses worldwide. Your card details never pass through us: they’re processed encrypted and securely.
As soon as the payment goes through, the booking is locked in your name straight away. There’s no waiting list and no “pending owner confirmation”: if the calendar let you book, the boat is yours that day.
3. Instant confirmation
Right after, you get a confirmation email with everything that matters:
- Boat, date and time slot booked.
- Meeting point: Club Nàutic de Cambrils.
- What to bring and what time to arrive.
- Contact details in case you need to reach us beforehand.
Keep it handy. It’s the only “paperwork” you need for the day of departure.
4. On the day: meeting point and briefing
You meet us at Club Nàutic de Cambrils at the agreed time. There we welcome you, check your ID and give you a roughly 15-minute walkthrough before casting off:
- How to start and steer the boat.
- How to anchor so you can swim straight off the deck.
- The recommended area for the day, based on the wind.
- How to use the safety gear that’s on board.
No previous experience needed. The briefing is designed precisely for first-timers, and we clear up any question before you set off.
5. What to bring and what’s included
To make the day run smoothly, this is all you need:
- ID or passport (essential).
- Swimwear, a towel and sunscreen.
- A cap, sunglasses and some light clothing.
- Water and food if you like; there’s a cooler on board.
- Comfortable footwear that can get wet.
You don’t need to bring anything else, because these are always included:
- Insurance for the boat: SOVI and civil liability.
- A full safety kit on board.
- A cooler, a sun shade and a nautical map of the area.
- On La Bond, fuel as well.
Separate from that are the optional extras you add yourself — a SUP board, snorkel gear, fishing tackle or an inflatable donut — and, if you choose La Niña without a licence, the professional skipper. On La Niña, fuel is paid according to the day’s consumption. You see all of this itemised before you pay, with no fine print.
And if plans change, no worries: cancellation is free up to 48 hours before departure and you get your money back, no questions asked. You book knowing you have room to manoeuvre, and if you have a doubt about the date or time slot, just message us and we’ll adjust it.
First time and still have a question? Take a look at La Bond to start, or message us on WhatsApp and we’ll help you choose before you book.
